What a pleasure! The guys had a little problem with the Van on the way up but apart from that they were brilliant. They moved my daughter previously and i noticed how efficient they were so booked them again. Would definitely book them again.

Greedy, manipulative and unprofessional

They try to delay the speed of the process to charge extra money. Liar manipulator who never got any manners. They keep talking in their language and say bad thing about you and when you ask them not to so they said oh we are friends and talk sorry but I pay you to do the job not to talk in front of me with language that I even don’t understand disrespectful

Tremendous Experience with Elephant Removals.

We've used Elephant Removals several times and never been disappointed. Their packing and moving services are too good and the prices are competitive too. The customer services is very good as well. The staff are polite and cheerful. Everything was handled and treated in a careful manner. The porters extremely friendly. I will most certainly recommend elephantremovals.co.uk to anyone searching for a reliable movers and packers in London.

Use another removal firm!

My experience with Elephant can be summarised with the below (summarised) email I sent to them after the fact.  In summary, they were late (I was charged by the new owners of my property as we were 4 hours late moving out!), unorganised (didnt seem to understand that everything required packing and required my husband to step in and help), unprofessional and showed a complete lack of customer service throughout.  They even passed a comment about tea breaks when there were two hours of the day when they were waiting for packing material! Our response to the below was a 100 pound deduction from the bill.  They have since ignored all emails from us seeking compensation for damages to a dining table and a radio.  I can only assume they have no insurance policy in place.

Booking of Elephant Removals  - I asked whether he needed to come round and assess the inventory so we were sure to get the right size removal vehicle.  He did not deem this necessary - and consequently the van that turned up was too small.  On discussing whether Elephant should pack all our belongings on the previous day or the same day, I was told either approach was possible - we were four hours late moving out the flat and incurred charges form the new owners as a result.   Day of Removals  - removal van was expected at 9:30 - it arrived two hours late without packing material!!   It took 2 hours for someone to go back to Elephant and pick up the materials.  During this time, the two remaining Elephant employees needed direction from my husband on how to proceed.  Throughout the day, there was little leadership or supervision from the Elephant team and it was very unclear who was in charge.  My husband had to step in and direct the team and provided hands-on help working at twice the speed of your employees.  Whilst the point has been made that it is our choice whether to help or not, we did not feel there was really a choice here as otherwise the removal process would have taken even longer.  In addition to this it is worth mentioning, I also had to start filling boxes – I am 9 months pregnant – it has taken me 3 days to recover from the experience.  And finally, we resorted to asking the removal company of the people moving into the property(who had been parked outside for 3 hours) to lend a hand.  As an aside, its worth mentioning that they were quite shocked at how the removal process was being run and the speed at which progress was being made.  And by contrast they worked with speed, purpose and organised themselves efficiently to get the belongings out of the flat so they could finish their job and move items in.  They also did not need much direction.  - During the packing process, the Elephant team were told several times that they were to pack everything.  However on checking their work throughout the day I kept finding cupboards they had not yet started on and they seemed surprised when I said they needed to pack up said cupboards.  In addition, on instructing that a cupboard should be emptied and on checking whether this had been completed or not, I found on several occasions that two/three items had been left unpacked - again this resulted in leaving a whole drawer of belongings behind at the property.  It became clear to my husband that an extra van was needed to transport our belongings.  However, the Elephant team did not appear to be able to make a decision on this point.  I called and requested an additional van – they did not take my word for it and did not call me back to agree the way forward.  I find this quite unprofessional as at this point we had been on the phone to Elephant several times during the course of the day and were already 3.5 hours delayed in moving out of the flat.  - On arrival of the second van, items were moved from the forecourt into the van.  On packing the second van, part of my BO Concept dining room table was broken.  This is not fixed and I expect to be compensated for this separately.  On discussing the bill with the Elephant team, there were comments made about how we should pay because the team are on minimum wage.  There was also a reluctance to call someone more senior at Elephant to discuss the issue further.  .

Official company response

Hi Sally

Thank you for your feedback which is important to us, it helps us improve our services. It is always a good idea to know both side’s story, we would also like to highlight follow points:

• We helped you in an emergency:
We are somewhat confused that despite providing our services at a last-minute requirement, this is the response to our services. You had to change the date of move due to issues at your end, and despite difficulties at our end in accommodating for your move, we succeeded in helping you out the second time as well.

Given item list was a half load only yet we didn't let you down and got the job done:
The given inventory was half the vehicle load with only half furniture being mentioned (i.e. far less), but to be on the safe side, we sent a vehicle with 50% extra capacity. Sometimes for a company to cater for a large move, some people project that the move is small in order to be taken aboard.

The removal staff informed us that the inventory was substantially more than we had been told, therefore additional time and energy to cater for this unforeseen circumstance naturally meant the job being prolonged.

• On a discounted quote, we gave further discount even before job started:

Normally we charge £80 per hour for an extra-large vehicle including 3 porters, but we already had discounted you £100.00 by applying a £70/Hr Rate.

After the move, whilst liaising with your partner via emails, we agreed to give a further discount by refunding an additional £100.00 as a good will gesture (i.e. equals to £200.00 in total discount) and settled this case a long time ago.

• Cancellation of Advanced Booked Packing Date

We were never informed that you were expecting a child (i.e. pregnant) otherwise we would have advised you not to cancel the one-day advanced booked packing service.

• DIY Pack to Save Cost:

Initially you booked packing a day before, but then changed to the same day part pack and move. You decided to pack as much as you can beforehand to save the overall cost, which was fully respected as we could not enforce our services upon you. We then delivered £113.46 worth of Materials in advance to initiate DIY Packing.

• Time Constraints

At the time of booking, we asked if there are any time restrictions, to which your reply was ‘no’, and a booking confirmation email including this fact was sent to which no criticism was made at that time. We follow strict protocols to avoid situations such as this.

• Vehicles Carry Extra Materials

All our vehicles carry extra materials, but on the date, the staff informed us that there is so much more packing pending and will need even more, despite the advance delivery of materials as well. There was no delay in collecting extra materials, whilst the other two staff worked tirelessly without taking any breaks. The main time consumed was because of the increased inventory of which we had no prior knowledge. The pending part packing on the same day. The parking wasn’t as close as it could have which meant the overall work prolonged.

Table Fixed
The driver informed that during the handling of the table, a part fell off but he fixed it back and informed the client about it.

To Conclude
We gave over £200.00 discount in total as our staff informed us that they intentionally did not charge for some of the packing materials used in order to keep you happy. We are a Customer-Centered Removals Company and this the core reason why we go that extra mile in making our precious clients happy. Our sincerest apologies for any unintended mishaps which may have hurt your feelings.

Kindest Regards,

A Good Removal Company.

We would strongly recommend www.ElephantRemovals.co.uk, this moving company London came as highly recommended by my friends when we were moving home. They packed with their own specially made moving boxes and other packaging materials, relocated all our contents safely. Not a single scratch as they had wrapped everything so well that nothing moved from its place whilst in transit. They also disposed some excess furniture to the recycling centre that we had requested as part of de-cluttering plan. The job was very well executed, no doubt this is a sign of a professional removal company, and would not hesitate to let others benefit from such a trusted firm, a true reliable movers and packers firm.

Dishonest.

On Friday 21/8/15 we used this company. After two quotes we choose the expensive one, because we had more items. So the day when we moved , Elephant removal sent the wrong lorry which not enough room. I had to hire a van which costs me 75£ more, and when I phoned them and they said don't worry do that and we will pay the money back. I emailed them with the extra cost . And they never did it . .

Service cost: £595

Official company response

Hi Miguel

Thank you for your feedback which is important to us. Just to clarify that due to unforeseen issue with the larger vehicle and safety concerns, we could not let you down and resorted to plan B with a slightly smaller truck.

Given the opportunity, we could have conducted a second trip too for the same price. In any case, the fact is that our staff did help load and unload your arranged Van too, for which Elephant Removals Paid in Full as well.

We do care for our precious customers and this is the core reason why we did reimbursed you the agreed amount on the 27th of August 2015. However, the refunds usually take up to three working days for it to appear on your bank statement. We are somewhat shocked to see that your initial feedback to this date hasn’t been updated to explain the full facts that followed.

A situation which occurred in your case is extremely rare, but the good news is that using a reputable VAT listed and registered moving company such as Elephant Removals only meant that we could not let you down or ignore you completely as others do. Once again we sincerely apologise for the slight unintended inconvenience.

Best Wishes,

Customer Care Team

Excellent Movers and Packers.

At Elephant Removals all the staff including porters were extremely extra supportive. The cost seemed slightly higher but it was worth every penny we spent. From Packing to collection until delivery and unpacking, they conducted it in an incredible speed and tireless manner. Despite we had extra items, their vehicle catered easily for the 15% extra item that we never realised we had from places we did not think of. Very good removal firm and indeed a good team work which made our move a seamless experience. We would certainly recommend Elephant Removals to anyone moving home.

Excellent Experience.

My house move with Elephant Removals went nice a smoothly with no problems both when booking and on the day of move. I went with the hourly rate and found that to be much more cheaper as I wasn't moving far and my job was not a big one.

However I did have some very large and awkward items that I was worried about but the supervisor on the day kept me reassured that they had everything under control.

Would most definitely recommend to anyone moving homes.

Elephant removals lead a great move.

We had a wonderful moving experience with elephant removals. Although our request was on short notice, they were still able to live up to their standards. They had friendly staff that had played a huge role in our move. Not to mention they were capable of doing a quick but amazing removal. 5 star service - would recommend to friends & family.

Booked for a removal of a large wardrobe as I was moving house. Quote received was very reasonable and the communication was clear and prompt.

Andre and Usman the drivers that arrived were very polite and disassembled/re-assembled the wardrobe in next to no time, taking great care to ensure the disassembled parts were handled with care and placed securely in the removal truck.

I would definitely recommend Elephant removals based on their prices alone, as I think their price and service will be hard to beat.

Move central London.

I used them a few years ago and after having read the reviews looks like they do the same to everyone. They cracked a mirrored cabinet of mine and literally had no regard for my belongings. When I raised it they said it was not their issue since they had not "packed the chest of drawers". I mean you can't exactly pack a chest of drawers. They said it was covered under the standard terms and conditions which does not cover this damage and therefore they were not responsible. When I further disputed this they never got back to me.I was furious as they made no attempt to compensate me fora £600 chest of drawers. Will never use them again! Terrible service.

Hi

We've checked our entire database of several years and were unable to locate anyone with either the first or the last name of yours. We've also done intense search to ascertain whether such or similar incident occurred with anyone from our end, and again we did not find anything.

Could you please contact us directly with your full name and a reference number. It is very easy to sit behind a keyboard and damage hard-earned reputation.

Move within London.

Moved from 2 bed house in East London to a 4 bed house in Surrey. We wanted some additional packing on the day and the team did it for us on the day. I had to hand over my keys of the property at 13:00 and all the loading was done by 13:00 and we were ready to move. I also had to pick up some from storage. The two guys did a brilliant job in packing and loading into 2 vans. One of the hottest days of the year with the temp at 32 degrees, the guys worked really hard . It was really tough for them . Still they didn't lose their smiles. Very friendly guys. The only reason why I am giving 4 stars is because, as per the quote, there where 4 guys who should have come, But only 2 of them actually came. But they worked really hard to get everything done by evening. I felt really sorry for the guys and probably couple of more guys would have helped them on the hottest day of the year. But the move was really smooth and I am extremely happy and will recommend elephant removals .

Great service, recommend!

I have used the Elephant Removals for the first time a few days ago and totally recommend it! I booked from one day to the following day (so very short notice) and everything went perfect. The salesman and the handler were both very nice and helpful. The handler arrived on time and was careful, efficient and organised with my stuff. After the service was done, the same salesman who answered my call the day before contacted me in order to check if everything went ok with the removal service, which shows that the company cares about their customers and is committed to providing good services.
Last but no least, the price was good and competitive (cheaper than other companies that I have seen).

Head in the sand when a problem happens.

Company only has responded once to address the damage done to furniture, and that was to say they would investigate and fire the movers if they found fault. Not the type of response you expect from a professional company. I would expect them to simply fix the damage (or compensate) and tell the movers to be more careful next time. That was last week, and haven't heard from them since so can only assume they will ignore us moving forward. Would definitely not recommend using Elephant Removals to anyone.

Not the best moving experience I have ever had. I have moved upwards of ten times and when I have used professional movers in the past (always United Van Services in the USA) I have had a much better experience. The movers showed up an 1.5hr later than agreed upon through emails.
This put us behind to the scheduled move in time to our new building.

The movers were not the quickest I have ever seen and when they loaded the back of the van, didn't seem to take much care in placing items. Especially in comparison to the two other removals companies who were parked on either side of their van. They didn't secure any furniture, the furniture pads they used were gross and falling apart, and they tossed a bunch of items just in a pile.

When they arrived to the building, they were quick in unloading. However, when they brought up our coffee table there was a large scratch along the side, a sofa table had some nicks, and the biggest issue was a vintage card catalogue on a base that the legs were completely bent. I have had the catalogue moved from Missouri to New York to London and not a scratch on it with United. Here they claimed it was an unstable base.
The catalogue simply sits on the base, so easily could have been moved in two sections. As a professional service, I would expect them to realise this and move it appropriately.
When we pointed it out to the movers, they argued first that the legs were designed that way, when I clearly know they weren't.
Then argued that it was because they weren't stable.

I expect more from a moving company. If I needed to tell them how to pack all the items, I would have simply rented a van and hired two strong people to lift items.

Very disappointed, and would not recommend as a removals company.

Official company response

Hi

We've searched our entire database system going back several years and were unable to locate anyone with your name. We've also carried out an intense search to ascertain whether such or similar incident occurred to anyone from our end, and again we did not find anything.

Would you please contact us directly with your full name and a valid reference number. It is pretty simple to sit behind a keyboard and damage a hard-earned reputation.

Yours faithfully,

ER Team

Horrendous service - won't address customer complaint

Absolute joke of a company - says they care about customer happiness and satisfaction, only to ignore my complaint and calls and to never get back to me, ever, again. Please see below the detailed e-mail I sent them about the issues I had during my move:

* Gave me a much more expensive quote than other companies, but I trusted Elephant Removals at the time for its reviews.

* 2 hours alone just to move contents from flat into van. I had the amount of things within the expectations of someone moving from a studio to an 1 bedroom, it seems highly inefficient that it took 2 hours just to empty out boxes and bags from my flat. This is not including dissembling my bed. I also helped with moving out.

* 1 hour unloading once we reached the destination, with my help. I understand that there’s no lift to access my second floor flat, but Rashid was sighing the whole time which was unprofessional. Jace (apologies that I spelt his name wrong), however, was professional, excellent and efficient the whole time.

* While Jace was dissembling the bed, I had to go downstairs to look for a more appropriate tool. I found Rashid sitting there but he said he was watching my stuff. I’m not sure why he didn’t just lock up the van and helped with dissembling the bed instead

* Multiple chips and scuff marks on my bed’s footboard- please see picture attached. I heard and saw multiple times that my furniture bumped into other objects e.g. door, anchor, walls etc. and Jace had to say to Rashid a few times to be careful

* Chipped chair - picture attached

* Wheel fell off radiator, cap missing. I don’t know if I’ll be able to replace this cap. Some force was applied to the radiator and it’s now wobbling. I forgot to take a picture of this item but I’m happy to provide it as evidence when I get home

* Tissue boxes broken - I saw contents fall out while Rashid was transporting the bag during unloading - picture attached

* Lots of things being put down without care on Rashid’s part

* Missing screw from my bed - I picked up a nail while Rashid transported it to the van. On Sunday, I went back to my old flat to clean it, and found another screw that fell off. Had I not returned, I would have never found it. It seems very unprofessional to transport parts and furniture so carelessly from professional movers

* Damaged foot stool - see picture

* Damaged bed underframe - this was transported attached to the central beam. I saw Rashid unloading it and by the time it reached my bedroom, the attached parts have fallen off. While attempting to assemble my bed yesterday, I saw that the parts were badly bent which has made assembling the bed impossible. See pictures attached for what they are meant to look like (IKEA manual) and what mine looked like after the move

* I was charged for the full half hour even though my moved ended at 15:15. By that point I was too upset to want to ask the movers to assemble my bed. In hindsight they wouldn’t have been able to assemble it in 15minutes anyway, plus the spine of the bed is damaged.

In light of all the issues, I think it’s wholly unfair that I paid £440 for this kind of service and experience. Instead feeling reassured, I was anxious and upset on top of the moving stress. It is ever more so upsetting because I kept my furniture in pristine condition only to have them damaged when I have moved into a new home.

Excellent customer service.

Brilliant service, brilliant guys, brilliant everything.
We are thrilled with the service we have received. We had the most profeesional, hard working and polite crew we could have asked for.
They worked extremely hard all day long and completed our move without any problems. They moved all our possesions without the slightest damage and with the bigest care.
All our furniture has been dismantled and reassembeled, and it looks exactly as before. They palced all our stuff where we wanted.

I would definitely recommend Elephant Removals.

Excellent Company.

Elephant Removals provided us with a complete package and service. They packed, moved and unpack us all in one day. And that itself is quiet impressive as they moved entire 2 bed house over 50 odd miles. We were back to our normal lifes the next day.

All of the guys were nice people and worked very hard a long days shift is not for everyone I guess.
All in all a very good, efficient and friendly service.

Brilliant Movers & Packers.

We've used elephantremovals.co.uk number of times, very pleased with this removal company, I took their advice, ordered double materials and couldn't believe that I had underestimated my move. They told me anything I was concerned about I must pack and if I wasn't comfortable handling myself, I should leave it to the experts. They've handled everything so professionally and treated everything with so much care that I shall certainly recommend Elephant Removals to anyone who is searching for a best moving company.
