Blue Van Man Removals

My best friend was due to move last week from East London to South West London. She had requested the services of this removal man and explained that she needed a piece of furniture picking up on route. This man quoted her £80 and said he would be there early on a Saturday morning to move her South. He had firstly asked here if she needed an extra person to help with the loading and unloading but she declined the offer. The two days before the move, the location of the piece of furniture was changed and so she contacted the company to explain that they would now have to go 2 miles down the road from their original pick-up point. She then received an email from a woman to say because she was asking for an additional 4-mile journey, she would have to pay an extra £20! Firstly, it was only 2 miles and secondly, this came two days before a very stressful move for my friend. Emails then flew backward and forwards as my friend tried to get them to see that £20 was too much and in the end, the original gentleman who quoted her £80 said that he couldn't do the move anymore but could get a friend to do it for him! In the end, my friend went with someone else and SAVED £40! The moral of this story is .. just because they have a website, doesn't mean you can trust them not to cheat you.
