International move from TX to Australia.

The move went really smooth and nice. No issues at all and arrival time was as expected. We got luck and no delays at customs and we got our goods in less than three month from departure. Moving company in Australia with friendly staff and they attended well all our needs. In Dallas we just found that personnel don't have much of an idea of the requirements at customs in Australia so we just boxed some stuff with real uncertainty that would pass or cause trouble but no issues at the end.

We will definitely will get in touch again if a new overseas move is needed.

Long-distance move from Washington to Hawaii

Move from Seattle to Hawaii.

Just had a great move from downtown Seattle to Hawaii. This was my 14th move. Ranier did a great job estimating and planning the pickup, packed perfectly. They took one day to pack and one to move into the truck - I initially thought that was more than needed but they worked efficiently both days and getting things out of the apartment was more tedious than I'd thought. A great pack - NO items lost or broken!. Transit and storage at destination happened exactly as estimated and and delivery was exactly as planned as well. Unhesitatingly recommend Ranier.

Overseas moving.

I have used Rainier moving on two different occasions to move personal goods from California (Oakland and San Diego) to Canberra Australia. On both occasions, the move went very smoothly on both ends. Rainier is very prompt and keeps in good communication so the last minute details of the move can be arranged and you know where your stuff is and the estimated dates for arrival and customs etc at all times. I never had any trouble getting a hold of Rainier right away, even in the time between Christmas and New Year’s which is when both moves occurred in different years. I would definitely use Rainier for all my overseas moves!

Exceptional.

The whole process from start to finish was exceptional. We are very satisfied with all aspects of our experience from the quote, communication, pick up and delivery to the re-routing of our goods etc. We felt like our belongings were being taken care of personally and not just another sale in their income stats. Our belongings were all delivered, intact, no damage, clean, and had to have been handled carefully by how the boxes looked like they did when we packed them. We were very impressed and would use them again if we move in the future. We were very nervous about the whole international moving process when we started looking for a moving company because of poor reviews and bad communication with other companies just in the quote stage, but Rainer exceeded our expectations from the start. Even though the delivery took a little longer than we first anticipated it worked out great for us because we moved twice in the time between our belongings arriving so it was much better that we didn't have to move everything twice. We were kept informed along the way of the progress of our delivery and they re-routed our delivery to the new address without any difficulty.

International Relocation - Easy Move!

My husband and I were relocating with our young children internationally. It is a natural stressful time. We hired Rainier and everything from start to finish was effortless - great communication (felt comfortable with the process, asked a lot of questions which were answered promptly), professional movers both where we packed up from and where our items were delivered. It was completely full service and all our contents of our home were delivered safely and without damage. Amazing - highly recommended!

They are great!

I'd recommend Rainieros to any friend. I basically only have kind words towards their service. They made my moving easy and with an affordable price. It was great to have a good choice of dates for the moving date, the actual movers that worked that day were trully professional and kind, and the ones that came home to bring all the stuff were again really efficient, quick and caring with all the boxes, etc. It was awesome to have all the paperwork being cared by them. And it was a moving from Baltimore US to a small village in Catalonia, Spain.

The process was made much easier by all your work, and I would recommend anyone moving international to call Doug, and do the same door to door service I received.
Doug and Rainer were always professional and helpful.
some damages, but moving internationally, going through quarantine, etc, can you expect 0 damages? I don't think so. You are lucky if you get 0. 20 ft shipping container.

Rainier Overseas: Excellent!

Moving can be a stressful experiences and we thus have
put lots of weight into selecting an efficient and reputable moving company for
our most recent, fifth international move (CA-Europe). By comparing a dozen international
movers, we decided to get in business with Rainier Overseas Movers as the publicly
posted reviews as well as member comments in several expat forums suggested
excellent services at competitive costs. Today, some weeks after the
relocation, we very much can agree to this.

Everything came together seamlessly. Starting with the
in-house survey by their local partner/ subcontractor in California, in our
case a company called “Moving Star” we felt to be in good hands (Avner and Jill
from Moving Star always worked an extra mile to get our things done well!). They
provided us with plenty of useful information concerning our move abroad and they
offered us various options to choose from. All of our questions were answered swiftly
before or during the move either by Moving Star or by Rainier directly. During
the whole time, David Wiviott, international relocation manager at Rainier
Overseas, was always courteous to us handling our issues with care, sensibility
and quality, and he was exceeding our expectations of good customer service by
far. Packing and picking up our household items (and storing them in a
warehouse for some weeks before shipping overseas) was done by a professional and
friendly team. From an overall operations standpoint, everything went smoothly
and our household goods arrived at destination in the given window. In the
interim, there were some additional costs, which came up unexpectedly to
everyone. However, they were all absorbed by Rainier in order to truthfully keep
their initial quote. A couple of items were missing or damaged despite best
intentions and care taken to prevent, but this is not unusual if moving a 3 BR
2 bath household a few thousand miles, we guess. The claims process was pretty
simple and without much work on our side.

In conclusion, after the experience of five major
relocations now, we are more than satisfied with Rainier Overseas. They are a
team of knowledgeable, experienced, helpful, and responsible professionals from
top to bottom. We also think it is hard to beat Rainier in terms of customer
service and pricing (I cannot recall the total costs, hence the $1 below, but it was VERY competitive). Our overall impression was very positive. When we will
move next time and can choose Rainier again (at our current location), we would
definitively do so. We can certainly recommend them to anyone else.

Rainier Overseas Movers - Best in the business!

I've never written a review before but felt I needed to this time. Moving to another country is stressful enough without having to worry about all of your belongings getting to you. BUT, Rainier was excellent. From step 1 to final delivery, they were nothing but professional. All of our things arrived..in tact, which I have to say was a surprise from previous experiences with other companies. If I ever have to move again, they'll be my first call. Thank you!

Rainier Overseas Movers.

We hired Rainier Overseas Movers to transport our entire Household from Iowa to Rome, Italy. We dealt with Doug Wiviott who kept us informed from the day the shipment was picked up until the day it arrived in Naples. He readily answered all our questions and made helped us navigate the Italian customs laws. His assistance was invaluable in getting the property into the country and then transported by truck to Rome. The property arrived in the same condition it was when it was picked up. Nothing was missing.
We would highly recommend Rainier to anyone needing an honest and competent moving company.

Very good move experience.

We had a very good experience with Rainier's movers from start to finish. Everyone was very nice, easy to work with and professional state side. My experience in Zurich, with the movers Rainier works with in the UK, was also very good. I felt informed about the process along the way via email, and everything arrived here in good condition, with nothing broken. The movers from the UK were nice, helpful, and efficient. The price was very reasonable. All in all a very good experience and we would use this company again.

Awesome Outcome!

Rainier Overseas Movers, Inc.My husband and I are so happy with the outcome we had with Rainier Overseas! We want others to benefit from their service, as moving is one of the biggest challenges, and the most stressful, in life, and guess what? We didn't just move locally, we moved far far away, all the way from Fortworth, Texas to Melbourne, Australia!! This was a massive relocation for us.This was the first time we shipped our personal belongings from shore to shore, and I must admit, it was very scary. We spent hours googling and researching, almost getting caught to scammers, because we wanted to keep the costs down as well as get the most reliable shipper. Everyone knows, shipping is costly, and finding a honest reliable shipper is almost impossible, as the trade is fraught with trickery. Finally, after much researching, we decided to go with Rainier as our shipper, and Armstrong Movers as our mover. Doug Wiviott , the Director at Rainier was absolutely amazing. He was patient and understanding and even though our shipment wasn't the biggest, he took his time explaining the whole process to us. When we asked him to pick Armstrong for our movers, he obliged us and worked with us. He gave us the most competitive rate, and took the pressure off us all the way through. Our goods arrived in Melbourne without any drama, just in time for us to settle down peacefully!You are on this site because you are looking for a shipper and/ or mover. We are doing this review so we can save much of your time, and help to minimize the stress of moving, and confidently say to you that you can't go wrong with Rainier Overseas, because Doug Wiviott and his staff are different, in that they are a business with integrity, efficiency and professionalism. NYC-Barcelona move.

I recently moved from New York City to Barcelona in Spain with Rainier. Everything went very smoothly and I would highly recommend this company for overseas move. We moved a 3-bedroom apartment and used a whole 20-ft container. The moving teams in New York (Best Guy) and Barcelona (Inter S&R) were very nice, efficient and careful. Nothing was damaged during the move. All the administrative process also went very smoothly thanks to the people at Rainier. The move was also cheaper with Rainier than with other companies, yet the quality of service was first rate. They were also very responsive to my frequent emails and questions. Overall, an excellent experience. Great job!

Great movers.

Our experience with Rainier OS has been great. Doug has always responded our inquiries in a timely manner. The process, as well as what was included was explained to us very clearly, so there were no surprises or hidden fees. We had a minor hiccup with the destination handler and Rainier OS responded quickly and efficiently. Overall we are very happy with the moving process and we would definitely recommend this company to our friends.

Great move!

Overall a great experience and great partners of Rainier OS.
Moved about a room of stuff from US to the UK.
Very simple and straight forward, everything got packed up very quickly and easily. They were very close with their estimate with time to arrive in the UK. The local partners were great as well, very accommodating.
Everything arrived ok, nothing damaged or missing.

Would definitely use them again.

Nailed It - Great experience from SF to Sydney.

I recently completed an overseas move from the USA to Australia in November 2017 and worked with Mark Lawson at the company. Rainer Overseas Movers was part of a team of companies to assist with the varying stages of the international move. I was exceedingly pleased with the level of service and assistance from their team. I always knew what was going on and I knew what to expect to happen next. Moving from San Francisco to Sydney is decently stressful given the amount of changes happening in your life, but this part of the massive move process was thankfully really pleasant. Definitely would recommend them to others.

Left a note on Facebook and BBB as well on behalf of Rainier Overseas Movers because I know how important it is for social proof of a company while people are doing research.

Overseas move from California to Singapore.

I'd recently arranged to move my furniture from California to Singapore. The furniture had been kept in storage for several years . Searching for a mover via the internet had been an intimidating experience as each one has their share of horror stories. I finally settled on a few with the least negative reviews and sent out requests for quotation. Doug Wiviott of Reinier responded the next day while I had to wait for a week or 2 for the others. That settled it for me and, of course, it helped that their quotation was reasonable.

The whole process turned out to be relatively easy as Doug was always there to guide and explain every step of the way. I'm happy that there was no additional cost except for a charge when my container was picked for further inspection by the US Customs. The friendly guys from California Relocation Services was on time and swift in packing my stuff for the container. In Singapore, Panther International Movers handled the custom clearance, temporary storage and subsequent moving to my apartment smoothly.

Overall, the whole experience was quite uneventful even though I was bracing myself for surprises. Communication from the companies involved was excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend Rainier.

Excellent Job!

My family and I had to make a very difficult choice of re-locating from the United States to Middle East right around the time when a shipping and trade blocked was imposed on Qatar. Every single situation we faced from the point of our decision to relocate was a humongous challenge except the best decision to use Moving Star and Rainier Overseas to help move our fully furnished home and my brand new dodge!

It was a complete pleasure dealing with the team, right up from the moment Avner of Moving Star walked in to do the survey, the ease of communication with Doug Wiviott and team (throughout the move), the packing team of Moving Star, the forwarding team and Prema & the clearing team from Writer Corporation here in Qatar. I would highly recommend Moving Star and Rainier Overseas Movers for any international move!!

Milwaukee to Spain.

I contacted Rainier Movers in June of 2016. I received a quote of 3590.00 from door to port, as I wanted to arrange the move from the port to my home. I had made another move from Chicago to Italy, in 2006-07 with MSC with no problems and an overall cost of about 2,000. I know how it works. At the beginning, all was fine, however, later on finally in September, when I was to load the container (20ft) at my storage unit, I was told that I had 24 hrs and it would not change in price if I had it picked up the same day to save money. Once the container arrived, I was then told I only had 2 hours. The people that were suppose to come to load the container did not come. I had spent days packing and loading on pallets to make sure my things would not be damaged. I kept getting calls and e-mails from Rainier asking when I would be done. But yet, I had arranged the container from 9 am to around 3-4 pm. We finished at around 3pm. I consistently asked about the tracking and was put off for several days. I also gave the name and contact information to them for the people that would be assisting here in Spain. Instead, they forwarded all my personal information to other company and would not explain to me how in the world this other company was given my contact information and logistics. I paid for insurance and asked time after time for the documentation. Not only for the insurance, but for all the documentation. It took several requests to obtain the documents with a semi- break down on the costs, not exact. It was a small one bedroom apartment. Kept asking for information that had already been provided, time and time again. Rainier gave a "guesstimate" of weight of 4,500 lbs. Not possible. Therefore, the weight of the container is paid buy YOU. I sent several e-mails confirming the company here in Spain that would be receiving my container at customs, to no avail, as the documents given still stated NONE GIVEN. It was such a hassle to get anything completed. Plus, Doug was on vacation during this time of transporting my things, from the storage unit to the train, and the documents should Chicago port. No, it was going on a train to NY. Once the demanded payment and the container still had not been officially loaded and I was concerned because I was not being updated. This was for 2 weeks. It took another 2 weeks to demand from them all the documents - they stated if I did not pay, they would have my things held in Spain. Excuse me? I am paying for a service and you are not providing any documentation for the bill of lading, customs and you gave my info to another company without ANY apology or explanation, just saying that that company destroyed my documents. Prior to making the final payment, the sailing date changed. Again, I am asking for all the information. Finally, my container is on its way. Still, have not received all documents. Doug told me that he did not understand what I wanted, but they have been in the business for years and I already made a move from Chicago to Italy and I am well aware of the logistics and costs. He did not break down the costs and gave excuses. It was I, whom had to track my container on a daily basis to make sure all was ok. I never once got any updates, once final payment was made. Seeing the other costs posted, I believe that I was over charged, especially since it was not door to door. I would not recommend this company. Mind you, below it states 1 bedroom home, it was a one bedroom small apartment.

Great services door to door!

 
 Overall, I think the move went extremely well.  I believe that Rainier did a great job of communicating at every level and that the shipment arrived in a timely manner. I think when dealing with an anxiety provoking/stressful move such as this, communication is key, and Rainier should receive an award for promptness.  The Chess Moving company did an outstanding job on this end as well.  There are a couple of things for which we will need to file an insurance claim, but that's why we get insurance :)   But again, overall, we were really pleased with Rainier's service.   I will highly recommend Rainier to others in the future.

  Rainier was truly fantastic and assisted me in many ways! I am *TRULY* grateful for Rainier's generosity with my storage costs.  (And their extreme patience with me!)  This is really the kind of customer relations -- that goes above and beyond -- that you don't see these days.  I really appreciate Rainier's efforts to help their clients in the sometime difficult and unpredictable process of moving overseas -- I just can't thank them enough for this help with the storage issue/costs. Rainier Overseas: Move to France from Massachusetts.

I couldn't have been happier with the service I received from Rainier Overseas. I was extremely nervous about shipping my belongings overseas for my relocation to France, and I asked for advice on an expat forum. Someone recommended Rainier Overseas, whom I hadn't heard of at that point. I'm glad I went with them. Doug Wiviott was responsive, straightforward and always professional on the phone. The price was reasonable and he was more flexible than many of the other companies I spoke with. He was willing to find a reasonable price that worked with my budget and space needs (low-ish budget and around 100 cubic feet max). I didn't feel like he was trying to take advantage of me or talk me into something I didn't need. And he was able to work fast (I needed to be out within one week of deciding to use them!) I felt even more confident in my choice when his local partner in Massachusetts, Debra Ruf-Carson of New England Household and Moving (http://www.atlasagent.com/nehousehold/), came to my house to do the survey (after a snowstorm!). She was reliable, friendly, experienced, and put me at ease about the process. She kept in great touch via phone and email. She really listened to my needs and concerns and proposed flexible solutions that worked with my budget, ensuring I got the most for my money in terms of space and packing. For example, I wanted to do most of the packing myself, leaving only the really breakable items to her team, and I wanted one tailored container for my 100 cubic feet. She had a reinforced cardboard box/crate for 97 cubic feet (approximately) and was willing to make custom-made boxes for anything additional, which could be attached to the side of the main box. She also gave me packing boxes from her warehouse at no cost. Her entire team was great, from the guys who packed and picked up my stuff, to the man who worked miracles packing everything into the cardboard crate (She even let me go to the warehouse to meet him and see the crate for myself. It was a super thick cardboard, stronger than wood). Debra and Doug were also very helpful in walking me through the paperwork. On the Europe side, everything ran smoothly, too. I was satisfied with the communication wiht the local partner, and the shipment arrived must sooner than expected (only 50 days total from pickup to delivery) and in great shape. I wholeheartedly recommend Rainier and would use them again in a heartbeat.

Do not use this company.

I was moving from Pennsylvania to Germany and despite many phone calls and emails my moving goods are now sitting in the UK for more than one month after a transfer time of 93 days.  In addition, I was told at the time of shipping that the weight limit was not strict and I would not exceed anyway. In the end I was charged 1000 USD more than I was originally quoted. The sales person Peter Helgeson is not even bothering to answer my emails any longer.    Avoid this company at all cost, they are not sincere business people.    .

Helpful for first-time movers.

I used Rainier for a small household move from North Carolina to Istanbul, Turkey. This was the first time I had done an international relocation, and it was a very scary process. Rainier and their partners were incredibly helpful in answering all of my questions and helping me know what to expect along the way. We experienced very few troubles, but when we did, they were there to help us resolve it. I would highly recommend them and would rely on them again in the future. .
