DO NOT USE THEM FOR YOUR MOVE! We went with AMJ because the salesman was very thorough and knowledgeable but when our move date came, they arrived 1 hour late and it went from bad to worse as the day progressed. I received an email from the Ops Manager the day before advising the team would arrive between 8:30 and 9am the next day and by 9:30 when they hadn’t arrived I sent an email to ask where they were only for him to respond that they were 10 minutes away. Some of the team arrived at 9:45, 2 came in their own vehicles, didn’t introduce themselves and proceeded to walk through the house with their snow-covered boots on surveying what needed to be done. Another 10 minutes later the truck arrived and the supervisor showed up and again, no intro, he just walked through the house with his boots on asking “what was included in the move”. They proceeded to put 1 runner down the hallway and 1 halfway through the kitchen, but nothing on the basement stairs, so by the end of the basement clearing the paint was worn off the stairs. No runner was put down on the floor in the basement, so that floor was water and salt stained to the point that it was white! There was no runner put down on the hardwood in the living room or family room floors, resulting in copious amounts of water and salt stains all over the floors – the same result occurred upstairs, they put a runner on the stairs but nothing in the bedroom on the hardwood so the floor was covered in salt stains and water. When it was time to leave, they rolled the runners up shaking the salt and water onto the floor and the walls instead of taking them outside. It took 5 hours to clean JUST the floors!!

Upon arrival at our new home it was the same treatment, minimal runners were laid down the floors at our new home were just as bad as the other house – these men didn’t even care, they took no regard for anything being damaged. They broke the side off of my desk as well there was salt stains on my brand new headboard and bedroom furniture and the mattresses were dragged through the water and salt on the truck resulting in water all over the outside of the plastic wrap that ended up on the mattresses when they unwrapped them as well they leaned the wet plastic wrapped mattresses on the freshly painted walls and salt stained water marks were visible down the walls and needed to be repainted. There were salt stains on every piece of furniture as well as scratches on bookcases. They really didn’t care. At the time of the estimate it had been indicated on the work order that it was a bulky shipment, however they only sent 1 straight truck, where they had indicated 2 straight trucks or tractor trailer, they jammed everything into one truck and as a result things were not cared for!!

I chose AMJ Campbell because I was assured the team was professional. The quote wasn’t the cheapest and I trusted that our items would be cared for but this wasn’t the case. The men themselves were friendly but they really didn’t care for our items with no regard for quality. When it came time for them to leave, the supervisor Tom wasn’t interested in any issues that I tried to express, he just wanted to get paid. Completely unacceptable.

The claim process was just as bad. They just wanted it over, there was no regard for the unprofessionalism we experienced or the effort it took us to clean everything. They were apologetic at first but then when it came time to take responsibility they didn't. It took them over 2 months to respond and in the end gave us a measly $525.00. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

My mother used AMJ for a recent move to her new home just 30 minutes away. While everything looked professional during the move it became clear that something had gone wrong once we started to unpack and check furniture. An entire box of irreplaceable possessions (glass, china & crystal) went missing and has never been found. Multiple pieces of furniture were scratched, dented and chipped. The movers forgot to load items on the truck resulting in my elderly father having to drive back to the old home to retrieve the missing items that night. My mother thought that a refinisher would be sent immediately to try to assess and repair furniture damage but instead she has been put through weeks of emails and claim forms. 6 weeks later we are still waiting to see what recompense will be offered. Will never recommend their services to anyone.

I had a couch delivered by AMJ Campbell. The delivery people dropped the article on the ground, damaging my hard wood floors. I had contacted the company on multiple occasions to find a resolution for the damaged floors, finally to be told they are not liable and will not be entertaining any resolution. The delivery men who delivered my furniture flat out lied about the events that had happened, even though I had personally witnessed them dropping my couch.

Shows a tremendous lack of integrity on this companies part. I will never use their services again.

I am truly appalled by the lack of care and follow up with this company. I echo all the bad reviews you see here and had a similar experience. I feel bad for the workers who have to work under this company crew. I do not know how the heads of this company sleep at night. Our stuff and home was damaged and the company treated us like liers. Never again. I will hope they can someday make amends for all of the people/ stuff they have destroyed during people’s moves. Moving is difficult enough.

I was given a quote for a local move. I did all of the packing myself and had all of the boxes I packed numbered and documented. A very detailed itemized list of the boxes and all furniture was given to AMJ Campbell. They obtained other info before giving me the quote such as the number of room, the staircases, and accessibility to the driveway. The quote I was given was $1,860 which included the cost to drive to my house, load the truck, deliver my things to the new house and unload the truck. They were at my house early in the morning and 3.5 hours later everything was loaded and they drove to the new house. They broke a ceiling fixture in the old house that needed to be replaced. Once they were at the new house it was like they were different guys. I noticed the guys became very pokey. It took them 6 hours to unload the truck which was unbelievable considering I had less stairs at the new house. They stopped for an hour to eat but out of the 3 guys only 2 of them were doing any work. I worried because I knew I was being charged by the hour. The bill came to $2,518. A 35% increase compared to the estimate I was given. It took almost double the time to unload the truck than it did to load it. I would have thought loading would take more time as items need to be packed in the truck. Unloading is just pulling the boxes and furniture out.

The bill caused me a lot of trouble considering I trusted the employee when he told me the estimate is always very close (within 10%) to the actual cost. Moving is very stressful and this added a lot more stress as I ended up having to borrow money to pay the overage. This was not a pleasant experience and I would not recommend this company or use them ever again.

The intial walk through seemed professional they went through the house and looked at everything we had then sent a quote in a timely manner. Everything went horrible after that.
1. The move date was to be April 15th we booked 6 months in advance. They contacted us a month before saying actually the 15th won’t work for pick up because they don’t work Sundays. They should have checked the day of the week before sending the quote and having us sign the contract. Luckily we were flexible.
2. We were told anything that couldn’t fit in a box minus the TVs would be disassembled, reassembled or packed. We were to provide the mattress covers. We then find out that the wall art was not included and we should purchase covers for them in addition to the original price.
3. Next they say they don’t disassemble the treadmill which was at the house the day of the quote and nothing was mentioned about us disassembling it ourselves. They sent someone to disassemble it and broke a piece.
4. The truck and driver’s stunk of cigarette smoke I stuck my head in the back of the truck and smelled as if they had smoke in there but it was probably all the blankets.
5. The driver walked upstairs in our home with cream coloured carpet, I asked about runners and he said yes we will put them down he was just checking something. Take your damn shoes off then!!
6. They opened not only the front door but the back sliding door so the house was 12 degrees we have a 7 month old baby so I had to take her elsewhere. I understand the front door but no reason for the back to be open there was only one thing outside to bring in.
7. They broke a bunch of branches off the tree in the front yard pulling their truck right into it with no care
8. The truck was too small so they moved all day then had us return the next morning to load the rest which was kept in the garage overnight. We were told he ran out of blankets so the morning movers would wrap the stuff. Luckily we had family to stay with in the area overnight or we would have also had to pay for a hotel for the night to be able to come back the next morning.
9. We also had to have the landlord and cleaner re-arrange their plans and the cleaner we hired because of AMJ’s delay.
10. The following day they were late I called and they said they had the wrong address.
11. It was pissing rain and all the stuff was in the garage so everything near the door was getting wet but no common sense to move it into the truck first or to somewhere where it wouldn’t get wet.
12. Well moving on the arrival in Ottawa it did not arrive on time as within the scheduled time frame, I will give them that the weather wasn’t great. But the second load also didn’t arrive on time.
13. When they arrived to unload the gentleman in charge told the one teenager not walk across the muddy lawn and use the driveway so he wouldn’t track the dirt in the house. The first wise comment I heard. Anyway they argued outside for a bit and the guy left leaving two others to unload everything the other young man was very pleasant and worked his butt off to get the job done.
14. Multiple things were damaged including a large mirror that wasn’t wrapped with blankets as promised and an antique dresser was nailed together that simply needed the back plate screwed back on(what kind of idiot does that?)
15. The only professional employees were the french guys(sorry I can’t find his card with his name)that came from Montreal to unload the second load although they broke our office chair because it was thrown in without care. They assembled all the stuff that the first ones had disassembled without moaning and were efficient.
16. Ofcourse we had to spend time and pay for a new treadmill part on arrival as well which is just one more thing I didn’t really need to do with the move and a small baby.
17. All in all a total disappointment. I chose your company on recommendation from a friend but since have spoke with others who have horror stories as well.

We moved last week from the Brampton area to the Waterloo Region. From beginning to end, no issues. No damage to the home we moved from nor any damage to the new home we moved into. And just as important, there was no damage to any of our furniture or belongings. Alda, the relocation consultant was professional and offered a number of suggestions that would make our move easier. The quote was reasonable as well. No surprises on the final bill. The four movers we had were great guys. Professional, hard working and didn't stop moving until the work was completed. Mike, Calvin, Marcus and Daniel..you guys are the best! We would use AMJ Campbell's services again and would highly recommend them based on our experience.

This was the second time we had employed Atlas Van Lines in two years because we had just moved to another Ottawa house. It was a rough start because their truck broke down enroute to our house before the move. They acquired a rental and got on with the job about 30 minutes later than scheduled.

The crew only stopped for one morning break and one afternoon break in the six hours they worked loading and unloading our furniture and boxes. A number of 5 cu/ft packing boxes has been supplied by AMJ Campbell prior to the move. They wrapped our chairs and sofas prior to loading with cellophane and brought covers for our mattresses and box springs.

We would highly recommend Syd, Tony and Arnold for your next move.

I had a local move, the guys that came to move me were nice enough, although the company did not send a big enough truck so they spent too much time trying to load the truck by positioning items and although I was completely ready for the movers and had actually sold large pieces of furniture after the quote that they no longer had to move, my move took 16.5 hours instead of 11 hours. Nothing was broken but it was 5.5 hours more expensive than I budgeted for because the company sent the wrong size truck. Not happy!!

I have moved with AMJ Campbell a few times in the last 4 years, Ottawa to Edmonton and then Edmonton to Calgary. Always competent, helpful, professional. Recent move from Calgary to Ottawa was smooth as silk. They packed, moved and unloaded everything as promised with no drama. Very pleasant and good-natured. One issue with a microwave that was accidentally moved was dealt with easily and without fuss. Tara and Amanda very pleasant and responsive. I’ll definitely call them again for any future moves. We were hopeful for a stress free and organized long distance move when we finally choose AMJ Campbell after carefully reading reviews. Realizing that no company is perfect, we paid the premium price (almost double most moving companies) as we were busy and wanted the piece of mind that came with a "reputable" moving company. The pick up in Vancouver was seamless and our sales representative was great. We were given a delivery window of 15 days which was long but understandable given that we had a smaller move. After two weeks of no communication, I called to follow up before our last delivery day. We were informed the delivery would happen outside of our guaranteed window and only after pushing back and following up with multiple phone calls did they find a way to meet the last day of the window.

The driver came >2 hours after guaranteed window. He was horribly rude and said he was only doing the move as a favour and didn't want to be there. They did not bring a dolly, nor were they aware of how to load an elevator. I ended up carrying >50% of my own boxes with my family's help to make the move happen.

I was very disappointed with the move and after following up with Atlas Van Lines (I again had to call and follow up after not hearing for >1week) I was offered only a 10% reimbursement.

Overall, very disappointing and frustrating. I would strongly advise trying another company or trying a less expensive option to save yourself the bill.

We used AMJ to move our family as they were the "preferred vendor" for my company. Big mistake. The packers absolutely made a mess of my stuff showing very little care for anything of value. We found multiple boxes where things were just thrown it and banging against each other. Things like a 2 dollar plastic hairbrush would be wrapped individually but they had thousands of dollars worth of power tools banging against each other for 6 hours. The company contact told me that anything broken would replaced or repaired at my request, not the case. We were offered far less than market value for our things that were broken and were only offered repair if was less money than replacement. Not a great policy if you have anything of sentimental value get broked, like my wifes dollhouse that they destroyed which was passed down from her now deceased grandmother. Save yourself some headache, call someone else.

AMJ Campbell Ottawa took over our things on June 22nd and I still don't have them. I moved from Ottawa to Belgium on July 22 and have no news from them!

Poor communication, poor coordination, poor customer support!

I started my job without my clothes and personal products. My children started school without their belongings. And I don't have any books or repositories to help them. My kitchen is empty and my expenses are starting to increase because I am not equipped.

I called them and requested an update by email for 2 weeks and followed up by email and still have no news. The pandemic on the safe side when you are not doing your job!

I will use a lawyer, my only solution and any necessary purchases that are already in my business will be billed to AMJ Campbell Ottawa.

I moved in October 2022 from Montreal to Spain with AMJ. I was very disappointed with the service. Some boxes when missing and they search through our belonging. On arrival we noticed the boxes had been opened and things unpacked. My daughter American girl doll and jewelry went missing. My wife's expensive hand bags and perfumes went missing. Andre Lelievre offered a discount that he never honored. Tina Doyle, Key account coordinator is well trained to respond very politely and not give any answers. They did not assume responsibility for any of the goods that disappeared

We moved from BC to Alberta earlier this year. Ensure that you ask for your scale tickets!!! They only reimbursed when I asked for the scale tickets because they were off by over 1,000lbs. The reimbursement took nearly 2 months. I have several broken items and over $7,000 in missing items. They damaged both of our properties. Their packing job was absolutely atrocious and took us significantly longer to unpack due to their poor packing. They have refused to make any settlement and just continue to argue themselves in circles.

On September 2022 we bought a house out of town and sold ours of 30 years in Pembroke, Ont. We met with a few moving companies and we found AMJ Campbell to be the most informative, helpful, supportive & caring provider. We chose them! In preparation for the move Mr. Woodtke kept in touch and continued to support us.

On the day of the move and days after I reported a broken chandelier (that they packed), damages on our front door and frame, scratches on our railing, bannister, floors and walls.

In the process of unpacking I began to realize that I was missing numerous items. My missing items just kept adding up. I reported this to the Pembroke office and advised to contact Jason Cochrane, Manager in Ottawa. Jason Cochran asked for an itemized list of what was missing and cost. I mailed it to him on October 4, 2023. The next day I called him and he confirmed having received my email. WE HAVE NOT HEARD FROM HIM YET!!! He hasn’t dealt with our chandelier yet either.

I am extremely disappointed with this company’s performance and lack of response. The pain is great, my lost valuables are many and this company doesn’t seem to understand the impact of their lack of interest and their indifference to my many calls (some not returned) for help and hope for a settlement.
