Whilst these types of guides are subjective, after all, we all want and need different things from our retirement, we have made our choices with this reasoning:

• These 5 countries are all within Europe for ease of you returning to visit family and for them to come to visit you, they are no more than a couple of hours from the UK
• They are countries that most people will be familiar with
• There are already established expat communities
• To a degree, a good proportion of the population will have a basic understanding of English
• And finally, these are the countries that we are seeing the most requests for people to relocate to
